The King is dead...now what?

Quite recently Karak Eight Peaks Order killed the Destro king, I guess that makes us the first server which has had king kills on both realms. What you see now is that people have done everything, there isn't anything left to really do. Land of the Dead is a good concept, but it lacks to deliver. I had hoped for a reasonably bug free zone, at least for the most part. As I've said before to guildies when I've spoken about the subject for me it seems that the ideas are there, the coding to make them happen however seem to be done by trained monkeys.

I won't say coding is the only problem Warhammer has, there are a fair bit of things which was great 3-4 years ago when the game was created and begun that now is very outdated technically. I still find enjoyment in the game, but it's now at the point where it's all done and we're at a crossroads still.

The coming patch does seem interesting, with so many good MMO's releasing in the next months Warhammer is running out of time to keep its' player base. The coming patch might be able to save the game, but it also might be too little too late. I see a fair few leaving the game almost daily now, both friends and foes. With the great potential this game has it does sadden me to see this happening.

Quiet before the storm

Late May now, spring is giving away to summer, girls are finally getting into their bikinis and summer garments. (I live in the far north, we need to enjoy summer while it lasts!! ) Land of the dead and the next major patch is also well on their way. AoE will take a beating and that'll change a lot of the current gameplay. Pull and bomb that area with everything and their grandmothers puppies tactic will loose a lot of it's previous "I win button" effect. Melee seem to have gotten their huge love patch, single target damage seem to have went up by a fair bit. The numbers from the test server I do really hope won't be making it to the live servers. People was getting one-two shot left right and centre, that won't make anyone happy in the end. When fighting it's rather nice to actually have a snowballs chance in hell to survive a few seconds rather then die like a goldfish exploring the local rough cat alley.

Might be good things coming, but need to see it before I believe it, faith only lasts that long.

Still at it, still alive.

Sad to see many players and bloggers are moving along, away from blogging and from WAR. I still have mostly good times when I play WAR, our alliance is arguable the strongest on the Order side and it's quite capable to duke it out against anything destro can throw at us.

I'll not give ground for a time yet, certainly not until Land of the Dead has gotten to play out for a time. The Archmage is looking at many changes in the coming weeks/months, I wouldn't mind being a part of those changes and experience how they pan out.

South of the sands

Another live event has arrived, with more quests and more titles and small goodies for everyone. Today is the third day of the event, 5 days remain. Seems there is a fair few doing the quests as well. Most which are partially in RvR Lakes, this makes for some interesting skirmishes for the most part. We have had Warbands camping the area's, but generally not for long since a Warband doesn't help you in any other way then keeping the area clear.

Thargrim's Headwall is very contested lately, which is a fairly fun area to RvR in, so there has been much death and glory in the vicinity. The end reward seem to do something mysterious, "Shows the wearer the Nekheran lost treasures" or something similar I believe the description read. Will be interesting to see what they reveal.

Early morning raids

Alarm Clock raids and such happened in DaoC and the trend seem to have returned with the introduction of the Zone Domination system. It happens fairly frequently on Eight Peaks, locks to zones and contesting of cities at 6-9am happens more often then not these days.

The action is fierce and very competative all afternoon and evening, but early morning and normal working hours is strictly dominated by Destruction currently. Several times this week I've logged on to 3 fortress defences in as many hours. Or to a contested/locked Altdorf. However annoying it's in the end of little consequence, if it happens too often the city rating system makes it braindead to attack the city on low rating.

Regardless, what I wanted to put forward here is however much more entertaining, it seems we have a troubadour hiding in the masses of players. He can tell you much better then I about how things are currently.
